All aboard the Landa Park Train for a wholesome family adventure! One of the only miniature train rides in Texas, this scenic excursion takes you on a 15-minute trip around the beautiful Landa Park in New Braunfels. The views are incredible, and the overall experience is a blast for all ages. Come with me on this fun adventure on board the Landa Park train ride.
Landa Park is a 51-acre oasis in the heart of New Braunfels that has long been a favorite destination among local families. The park boasts a number of different attractions, from a paved nature trail to a miniature golf course to paddle boat excursions on the scenic Landa Lake.
You'll see an abundance of flora and fauna as you stroll the grounds, including Founder's Oak, a massive oak tree with a 17-foot diameter that dates to circa-1700.
Of all the ways to explore the park, this miniature train ride is a big hit with kiddos - although it's a blast for all ages!
This fun train ride leads passengers on a 15-minute ride around the park, showcasing all the beautiful scenery it has to offer.
For the past 40 years, New Braunfels native David Schoenvogel has kept the train chugging along in pristine condition. His impact on the community has been so great, the town's mayor designated July 27 as "David Schoenvogel Day!"
Not only is the backstory of the train as wholesome as can be, but the ride itself is also rife with nostalgia. Altogether, the experience is one you'll never forget.
Families with small children make up the majority of the train's passengers, but adults have been known to hop on solo, as well. What can we say - sometimes, you just need to unleash your inner child and forget about the constant demands of adulthood for a little while.
While the train operates year-round, it receives a festive makeover at Christmastime, when icicle lights dangle from the roof. Sometimes, Santa and Mrs. Claus even make appearances, so don't miss this magical event!
