Gruene, Texas – This holiday season, the historic town of Gruene is transforming into a holiday wonderland, with an exciting lineup of events and activities for all ages, including a brand-new ice-skating rink. Nestled above the scenic banks of the Guadalupe River, Gruene will be aglow with more Christmas lights and festive decorations than ever, creating a perfect backdrop for holiday memories.
“Holidays in Gruene are always a special time,” said Ryan Weinbrandt, CEO of Molak Corporation. “This year, we’ve added even more to the experience with new decorations and attractions, like the ice-skating rink. We hope folks will come out to enjoy everything Gruene has to offer— great food and drinks, shopping, and live music — all while embracing the holiday spirit.”
Here’s what’s happening in Gruene this holiday season:
Ice Skating in Gruene
New this year, the Gruene Ice Rink will be open daily from November 24 to January 5, 2025. Measuring 100 feet by 40 feet, the rink offers access including skate rentals for $20. Hot cocoa, cookies, and Gruene merchandise will be available for purchase. The rink will be open from November 23, 2024, to January 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. When school is out, Friday and Saturday hours will be extended until 11:00 pm. Ticket reservations are strongly encouraged and can be purchased at www.gruenetexas.com/rink
Sip-n-Shop – November 14, 5–8 p.m.

Capture holiday memories with Gruene's iconic Cowboy Kringle on the following dates: November 16, 17, 23, 24, 29, 30, and December 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22. Additionally, 15% of proceeds from bookings on November 16 and 17 will benefit Communities in Schools.

Gruene Pony Express Ride – December 7
The 23rd annual Pony Express ride arrives in Gruene at 10 a.m. to kick off the season.
Gruene Town Lighting – December 7
Celebrate the season at our annual town lighting ceremony, featuring live music, festive refreshments, and a special appearance by Cowboy Kringle on horseback to officially illuminate the town.
32nd Annual Jingle Bell Run – December 14
This family friendly 5K Run/Walk and Kid's Ks event includes a holiday costume contest and benefits St. Jude's Ranch for Children.
Two Ton Tuesday Holiday Show – December 17
