Gruene Hall, the oldest dancehall in Texas and a beloved live music venue, has been honored as the 2024 Live Music Venue of the Year by the Texas Country Music Association (TCMA)’s Texas Country Music Awards. The prestigious award was presented during the 8th annual Texas Country Music Awards on November 10 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth. Recognized for its commitment to fostering a welcoming space for music lovers and hosting some of the most iconic performances in Texas country music history, Gruene Hall continues to uphold its legacy as a cornerstone of the Texas music scene.
“Live music venues are one of the great places where everyone is welcome — where all are treated with dignity and welcomed,” said Ryan Weinbrandt, CEO of Molak Corporation which owns and operates Gruene Hall. “We’re proud to be the stewards of the oldest dancehall in Texas, Gruene Hall. It’s not always easy — we’re still sweeping up dust and wrangling the occasional raccoon — but it’s worth it when we hear people’s stories of their first time visiting. Gruene Hall is a place of legends, and it’s humbling to see it recognized.”
