Bed & Breakfasts

A stay at one of the city’s bed-and-breakfasts is a great way to immerse yourself in the historic hospitality of New Braunfels.

Kuebler Waldrip Haus takes you back in time while pampering you with modern amenities. Located on 43 peaceful acres, this property offers 10 luxurious options in three buildings, including an 1847 German pioneer home, an 1863 Texas school house and a private 3-bedroom cottage. Guests rave about the full hot breakfast served daily. The rural setting makes you feel like you’ve gotten away from it all, but Kuebler Waldrip Haus is about five minutes from Gruene. A warm atmosphere, rich history, and beautiful setting keeps guests coming back.

Historic & Boutique Hotels

New Braunfels has been a destination for travelers since its start in 1845. The city’s boutique hotels keep that tradition alive with both style and charm.

The Prince Solms Inn began welcoming guests in 1898, making it the city’s oldest continually operating hotel. While thoroughly modernized and recently renovated, this boutique hotel retains its vintage appeal, with six Texas Victorian-style rooms and a dimly-lit speakeasy, Sidecar, in the hotel’s basement, where guests can enjoy a nightcap and live jazz before retreating to one of the beautifully appointed rooms upstairs. The inn is perfect for a romantic couple’s retreat or a girlfriend getaway. Guests also rave about the restaurant next door, Muck & Fuss, serving up craft beer, inspired burgers and more.

Perched above the Guadalupe River, Gruene Mansion Inn dates back to 1872, when it was the grand home of H.D. Gruene, the town’s founder. Today, guests from around the world enjoy its 33 unique rooms, housed in century-old barns and homes restored to rustic Victorian elegance. Clawfoot tubs, antiques, and private porches add to the luxury, along with modern touches like contactless entry and exclusive Molton Brown toiletries. The Inn recently launched The Pantry, a grab-and-go market with locally-sourced, house-made pastries, breakfast tacos, specialty lunch sandwiches, charcuterie boards and a great selection of Texas wine and beer.

Sophie’s Gasthaus in downtown New Braunfels seamlessly blends history with modern style and comfort. The home, which dates back to 1906, is within walking distance of the main plaza, many of the city’s notable restaurants and nightlife. Sophie’s combines classic German and contemporary architecture with luxurious furnishings to create a relaxing oasis both indoors and out, where a lushly landscaped pool and hot tub await visitors. Guests can choose from six unique rooms and two suites, including a one-bedroom apartment, perfect for an extended getaway. Fresh coffee and tea are a morning ritual at Sophie’s.

Resort Accommodations

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Waterpark & Resort regularly earns accolades as the world’s best waterpark, with an unbelievable variety of river rides, pools, waterslides and adventures for all ages. It’s also a unique resort with lodging for just about any size group and budget.
